Winter Floral

What I Wore:
Shirt: H&M - $10
Skirt: NY&Co - $15 (giftcarded)
Shoes: Tory Burch via eBay - $50 (Christmas $)
Belt: From a skirt
Necklace: Forever21 - $25
Earrings: gift

The weather is starting to warm up and transition to spring, and with this weird transition comes a lot of rainfall. It's amazing how constant rain can affect your mood and clothing choices! I'm trying to refrain from being that person who constantly wishes for the next season to roll around, but I'm ready for some regular sunshine. In the meantime, I'm trying to tone down my florals and spring clothes with darker neutrals. This skirt does the work for me, though, and I love that I can wear it through sunshine, rain, cold, or warmth.

Have a great weekend!
XO,

what happened to all the heels you used to be wearing!!!

oh and i love that skirt on you. would you call that a pencil skirt?

...really? this is the first time I've worn flats to work in a while. We've had this discussion before, Aidan. I know you don't understand because you're a man, but it's not practical to wear heels all day every day. My blog is about real life and a working wardrobe, this is not a magazine or aspirational run-way fashion. It's very misogynistic of you to expect women to only wear heels every day, when you as a man have no idea what it's like or how uncomfortable heels can be (especially when you have a real-life job and are on your feet all day). You've said before that I just need to learn how to deal with it and train myself to walk in heels more often--which is ridiculous given your experience with this type of footwear. Until you, yourself, have even worn heels for an eight-hour period, please refrain from making these comments on anyone's blog.

I appreciate that you like the skirt--I believe it's a pencil, but it's a little wider at the bottom, so it could be considered A-line.

I am seriously dying over that skirt. I saw something similar at eShakti a while back, but it sold out before I could buy it. Please tell me you got this skirt recently and I can find it too! It looks really nice with that shirt (which I also have, by the way...I promise I'm not creepin, haha).

I see that your flats finally came in!!! Yay!!

haha i was just trying to be funny above with the heel comment haha because i know we have discussed about heels in the past, but its hard to make a joke over a comment because sometimes it wont be seen as a joke.

Your flats are so cute! And I love your adorable pattern mix :) I wish I could say the weather was warming up here lol

I love your skirt, and those flats are adorable!

Cute! I love all the black and white. The stripes and florals just look good together here - I like how you mixed them :) And I'm super jealous of those flats!! What a steal!

Winner--looks great! And I love those "all-season" pieces too :)

You look lovely, Whit! I love the stripes and flowers!

Love this - you are the queen of the fab pattern mix, I swear! Also, is that H&M stripe top recent? mine stripe top met some unfortunate bleach incident and I think will need replacing :(

I could wear black and white every day (and I guess I have for a few days in a row! ha!).
I couldn't believe it when I got these shoes for such a low price--I had to snatch them up!

That's so sweet of you, Hannah! At the very least, I've been practicing pattern mixing! ha!
I got the striped top last fall/early winter, but I think that H&M would have something similar to it on a regular basis. :)

Thanks, cutie! I thought it was super fun!

Thanks! I've really started to value those multiple season clothes--it seems like a no-brainer, but I'm glad that adulthood finally hit some sense into me!

The flats are ridiculously comfortable. I may never wear another pair of shoes. ha!

That's right--you're a little further north! I hope you're doing well with the crazy weather this weekend! We haven't seen any snow (or at least any that decided to stick around for a while).

They're pretty awesome! I can't believe how comfortable they are!

Whitney said...

oh no! I got the skirt last summer, actually -- so sorry! If I see one like it, I'll be sure to let you know FIRST. :) I think that everyone should have a black and white striped top -- totally don't think you're creepin'. haha!
