For the record, the mascot of my university for both my B.A. and M.A. is the "Charger." Apparently I'm the worst "Charger" ever because all of my batteries consistently die. I am quite the daredevil when it comes to charging things because I want to squeak that extra 1% out of my electronics. I've just now let Fins talk me into charging my iPhone every night. If I hadn't, today's outfit would have existed for naught...because if a fashion blogger wears an outfit, but doesn't take a picture of it, did it really exist? I know that these pictures aren't the best quality, but it was the best I could do while my camera refueled. Sorry to punish you guys for my lack of electronic savoir faire.
Apparently, I'm terrible at washing my clothes, as well. I originally intended to wear my trouser jeans with the top half of this outfit, but I wore them to work this past week for a t-shirt and jeans day at school and neglected to clean them. I think the outfit turned out rather well with the skinnies, but I fully intend to wear the top half of this outfit again with a variety of pants/skirts/shoes combinations in the future.
I wore this out to a family dinner to celebrate Fins's parents' 37th anniversary. I think it's pretty amazing that both sets of our parents have only been married to each other without ever being divorced. We are very lucky that all four of them are in our lives on a regular basis...and we're even more lucky to have such great examples of solid marriages to follow. I am so energized by the thought that Fins and I have so much to look forward to in our lives together -- I truly hope we're able to follow the examples set for us.
Okay, enough mushy stuff for now. Have a great President's Day, everyone! I'm going to visit some of the sales with my sister--wish me luck and determination not to break my shopping ban!
(My intentions are strong, but my resolve may not be...)
XO,

Good luck at the sales! I could never put myself in that situation and not spend, although I really need to ban shopping for awhile. I have no resolve. Hopefully I can draw from your strength and determination! BTW, love your blog!
loving the dark skinny jeans! you are looking very skinny lately!!
That green is beautiful on you!! I must find a way to steal this outfit if it is the last thing I do. I'm really bad about charging my stuff, too. I have a deep-seeded fear of being stranded on the side of the road with a dead cell phone.

I was just about to say she looks thinner! Gorgeous, regardless :)
Seriously, you are so cute! You look fabulous in this outfit, really. You look like a little skinny minnie in your skinny jeans :) Love it.
Whitney, you are looking teeny tiny, girl! And I love that pretty belted sweater!

Oh gosh, Tiffo! It could just be a flattering outfit! I feel like a bloated blimp -- I'm coming off of five weeks of being sick and I haven't had a chance to run nearly as much as I wanted to! Thanks for your sweet comment!
Thanks, Brynn! I think it's 50% outfit and 50% different camera/angle. haha!
hahaha! You crack me up! I liked it with the skinnies, as well!
Thanks, Kate! I really like these flats -- I haven't had a hard time breaking them in, but I went a half-size up from my typical shoe size. I hope they won't be flopping off of my feet when I've got them worn in! ha! I will definitely buy another pair if/when these die.
I love this color green, as well! It's a generally flattering color, for sure. Steal away! I can't wait to see your take!
So hilarious--I have an extra charger in my car JUST in case. :)
I really like the wash of these jeans--and they're a thicker denim instead of that stretchy jegging material. :) Good to know it's flattering!
You guys! I think this was just a super flattering outfit, but I wholly welcome any compliments like this at any time! haha!
I did pretty well -- I only bought a couple things for other people and some functional items (hairbands! haha!). :) So glad you're enjoying my corner of the internet! Thanks for stopping by to join in the conversation!
How did shopping go? Did you score any good deals or did you stay strong in your shopping ban? :) And I love the striped shirt layering here! I used to think turtlenecks were so dowdy and matronly but I love how you layered it with the sweater and have the stripes peeking through on the bottom and the sleeves. Makes it look a lot more modern and chic :)
My hubs and I's parents are still married too! 38 years this year!
That's so awesome! Congrats to them!
Shopping was fun, actually! I only spent about $6...and that was actually a gift for a friend. :)
My sister bought me a few things in "payment" for helping her start her wardrobe over (she's in the Navy and doesn't get to be a girl very often).
I don't know why turtlenecks get such a bad rep! They're pretty versatile for work...or even non-work (like this one)!
ok so you did get your shoes? did I miss the update? DO YOU LOVE THEM?!?!?!?
and please wear these pants more often. they look fantastic on you!
Gorgeous outfit!! I love the layering and the color of your sweater.
