Worldly

What I Wore:
Scarf: India - gift from student
Shirt: Target - $3
Cardigan: LOFT - $18 (giftcarded)
Belt: from a pair of shorts
Pants: Old Navy - $7
Shoes: Target - $12

One of my students arrived back in the states from India this past weekend and she brought me back a couple souvenirs. I was ecstatic when she gave me this scarf that I had to wear it the next day!

I always try to get some kind of jewelry or accessory from my travels as a "functional souvenir." It's such an amazing way to document your travels and journey -- I always remember my trip when I wear them (and they're all such unique items that it's a great conversation starter!). I love clothing and accessories that have a story, and I know that I will treasure this scarf!

XO,

I love the scarf! I'm a total cheeseball- every foreign place I go, I must get a scarf. They add instant sophistication to an outfit. Love this look - so simple yet pulled together by an Indian scarf- plus I'm sure you made that student really feel like a million bucks- cause their teacher was wearing something she gave!

Your student really knew what to get you to make you happy, didn't she? :-)

Love the scarf and the mustard flats.

Great gift from your student! I love that you take pictures in your classroom..I thought I was the only weirdo that did that (haahah). The lack of sunlight really makes outfit pictures hard to take.

That scarf is amazing! What a thoughtful student! I love the way you tied this, too. I will have to try that out soon :)

All of my students are such sweethearts. :)
I need to do a tutorial for scarves soon -- I get a lot of questions about how I tie it!

ha! Weirdos unite! ;)
I agree -- I run out of sunlight way too soon in the winter...

I thought a little matchy-matchy didn't hurt. :)

Thanks, Rachel! The scarf was such a thoughtful gift!

Ha! I'm so easy to please! :)

Wasn't she a sweetie?? I tied it by looping around once and then tucking one end into the loop. I need to do a tutorial soon -- a lot of people have been asking me about how I tie my scarves!

I agree! So thoughtful and fun!

I do the same thing! I think that I tend to buy jewelry -- a fun pair of earrings can do wonders for an outfit (and a conversation, right?).
I saw her in the morning and made sure to point it out. I think she knew that I liked it a lot. :)

that was so sweet of one of your students to bring you back that scarf! i love the yellow hue and how you tied it together with your yellow flats. i don't travel that often, but i've come to adopt the same mentality as you by picking up earrings from a local boutique or something similar as a memento from the trip!
