Wacky

What I Wore:
Shirt: Old Navy - $6
Skirt: Target - $20 (giftcarded)*
Cardigan: Old Navy - $20
Shoes: Zooshoes - $24
Belt: Anthro via eBay - $33

The answer of yesterday's mystery was, in fact, Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's." :)

*Earlier in January, I got the skirt I'm wearing in this picture along with a pencil skirt at Target to polish off a giftcard. I mean, I could've totally done the responsible adult thing and used it for groceries or house stuff, but where's the fun in that? I'm officially out of giftcards...just waiting for the giftcard fairy to look my way.

Wednesday's theme was "Wacky House Colors" (yes, a house system like Hogwarts).
The main colors of my house are red and black, and I though this outfit was just the amount of crazy that I could handle. My students were all kinds of hilarious -- wigs, body suits, and all kinds of glitter and paint. A student asked me if I liked his "wacky outfit" (he was wearing head-to-toe red), and I told him it was super cool and asked if he liked mine. He said "Yeah, but it's not like you wouldn't wear that anyway."
Thanks, kid. I'm still not sure what he meant by that, but I'm even more unsure about whether I would actually wear this.

What do you think? Is it entirely wacky or is the pattern mixing acceptable?
Linking up today with Mix and Match Fashion and her "What I Wore to Work" party. :)

Totally acceptable!! I think you look great. An outfit like this just screams HAPPY to me - and you look happy! Lovely! (found your blog via Mix and Match Fashion!)

I'm so jealous your school has houses. Sometimes I get bummed out when I remember the wizarding world isn't real (yup, I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd). You're lucky your house has a great color combination - red and black is so simple, classic, and striking! I like how you spiced it up with the pattern mixing!

I'm too much of a party-pooper to participate in school spirit stuff. I like to keep the professional look going at all times. But I like how you participated and kept it very professional looking. The colors are not too crazy. I'm really digging the skirt. Such a great shape and pretty pattern!

Aw, Jenn! Gotta get some school spirit in you! ;)
I'm glad that the patterns didn't clash...I guess that "wacky day" is always the perfect day to try out things about which I'm unsure!

Dr. Seuss! I love it! I so see that! :)

It's a fabulous skirt! I was lucky to have a little bit left on a giftcard--else I might have had to break my no-shopping pledge for it!

Of course! I wouldn't miss it! Thanks for hosting! :)

Isn't it a fabulous skirt? I could've gone even more wacky with the shoes, but I refrained. I'm glad I did -- I think that would've taken it over the "socially acceptable" cliff into "oh gosh what was she thinking" territory.

Our house system is SO cool. I love it! I would've protested until I got into the house I'm in anyway -- it's like the Gryffindor of our school. ;)

Whew! So glad it wasn't too out there! :) I was happy! We had a lot of fun with homecoming week, for sure!
So glad you found me, Catherine!
