Kermited

What I Wore:
Shirt: NY&Co - $20 (giftcarded)
Belt: Anthro via eBay - $33
Skirt: Target - $16
Shoes: H&M - $25
Necklace: Francesca's - $24

So I thought I would wear a really simple and easy outfit today, but I very quickly learned that it's really not easy being green.
1. I snapped one picture and my camera died (battery again because I'm the worst at charging my electronics).
2. When I loaded the picture on my computer, I realized that I completely camouflaged against my white board. Oops times two. I guess people typically worry about blending in with their surroundings when they wear green, but teachers have an oddly hilarious issue to worry about -- floating head on whiteboard syndrome? (I'm having some "Scrubs" flashbacks...headless doctor, anyone?)
3. I'm just generally not a fan of this picture, but I liked this outfit, so I posted it anyway.
4. Today, a sweet co-worker told me that she loves my sense of style and that I'm a regular "fashion plate." I couldn't help if she thought I looked like a plate of salad with all the greens I had going on...
5. During a deep and thoughtful (and fun) conversation at dinner, I managed to drip tomato soup onto my white button down. Goody. Thankfully, I am aware of my complete lack of hand-eye-spoon-mouth co-ordination and I carry a Tide to Go pen with me at all times. Crisis avoided.

Perhaps my subconscious has the secret gift of telling the future, and chose to wear a non-complicated outfit for an otherwise complicated day. Who knows what the day will hold when I get dressed in the morning, right?

Hi Whitney! I'm a new reader, and I've been browsing through your site and just wanted to say I love your style!

Just wanted to let you know that your Pinterest button on the left-hand toolbar is non-operational... not sure if it's because it's trying to link back to an older account or what, but I thought I'd let you know. I hope you have a great weekend!

yes!! Scrubs! Love your greens!

The funny thing is that this skirt doesn't look green-ish, it appears tan but maybe it's just the way it photographed? I don't know. Regardless you look great and the minty greens are great accents :) The woes of white shirts though---I don't know how many white shirts I've ruined from not changing to do yard work or eating or anything else ;)

Well we can see the outfit just fine even with the whiteboard/shirt blending, so it's all good!

What does a "fashion plate" even mean? haha! I love your sense of style too.

AND any tomato-based products (pasta, tomato soup, etc.) is like instant white-shirt magnet. It never fails.

Ha! I love floating head syndrome!

You're not the only one! I once set up the tripod, realized I had low battery and the camera died just as I was jogging to pose for one picture attempt. I love the look, though, for some reason the "fashion plate" comment made me think about about Forrest Gump's "box of chocolates." You never know what the day will bring. :)

i was so going to wear this skirt this week but since i didn't, i now have inspiration of a new color to pair with it. love the classic button-down and the other shade of green you paired with it, it looks great to me! and do tide pens really work??

No one ever gets my floating head doctor references! And I have been eyeing up this exact necklace for a while now. It looks great on you!

I can't wait to see how you wear it! I have to admit, I've been a little lacking on ideas for this skirt!
Tide pens are a lifesaver...at least for me! I'm such a klutz, so I keep one at my desk, in my car, and in my purse. My cheerleaders also wear white uniforms, so I can't even begin to tell you how nice it's been that I carry one at all times!

So funny! There's so much to think about and remember when you write a blog!
I love the Forrest Gump reference! haha! Thanks for giving me a laugh!

haha! It's dangerous, I tell you!

Whew! Glad I didn't look like a Houdini victim! ;)
I have no idea what "fashion plate" means, but thank you! Love yours, of course.

Agreed. I should know better than to test my luck with tomato soup...ever...

Hmmm...it depends on the lighting! Sometimes, I think that the skirt is tan, but it mostly looks like an olive. Could just be the odd lighting in my classroom!

I agree about white shirts -- they're perfect for any wardrobe, but they're so delicate!

I love Scrubs. I swear that I married a mixture of J.D. and Sheldon (from Big Bang Theory). Not sure how that's possible, but that's the perfect way to describe my husband...

Thanks, Kristan! And thank you for letting me know my link wasn't working! It should be fixed now! :)
Enjoy your weekend!

i know what you mean, i've found this skirt looks really different depending on the light... sometimes olive, sometimes brown/tan, so i never quite know what is going to go with it.

and i'll have to look into getting a tide pen, for some reason i never really thought they would be that effective but that is a good recommendation if you swear by them!
