Brunch and a Movie

What I Wore:
Boots: Target - $35
Jeans: Target - $23
Shirt: H&M - $15
Belt: from a skirt
Blazer: Target - $30 (giftcarded)
Scarf: Amazon - $6
Kate Spade Anchor earrings: eBay - $6

One of the best things about being off from work is having Fins home at the same time as I am. One morning, he sent me a text message (yes, while he was in the house, too) that told me to be ready in twenty minutes. So, I got ready, and we went to brunch and saw "Jack Reacher." How fun and spontaneous was that? I mean, it's small -- we didn't jet off to Alaska or anything crazy -- but I love the small things like that!

So, I threw this outfit together in the twenty minutes I had to get ready, and I totally ignored my hair. It was nice to have a time limit that didn't allow me to focus on getting "dolled up," but I got to focus on relaxing with my sweet husband. (I got ready in enough time to take these pictures, too. Priorities, people!)

By the way, I updated my Closet Inventory Page with new pictures and updated descriptions for everything in my closet as of January 1, 2013. I plan to update it with tags and links to the outfits I've worn with each item as the year progresses, so hopefully by the end of 2013, you'll have an entire directory of clothes to see how much I wore (or didn't wear) the clothes in my closet.
Check it out...and if you get super bored, you can always play "dress up" in my closet and leave me outfit suggestions. ;)

if you can just throw that outfit together in less than 20 minutes and go out then i think you have finally figured out fashion and how to dress amazing finally!!!!

after looking at your closet inventory i have to say that you have a ton of amazing pieces. The flare and trouser jeans are must keeps and i really want to see you wear a lot more pants like long wool trouser pants and stuff.

Also i noticed that you have way too many flats and wedges and not enough like regular heeled pumps or boots. I would love to see less flats and more heels in your wardrobe.

Also i say try these for a boot to wear causally. my friend got them and is in love with them and wears them everyday now.

I feel like I always say the same thing on your blog, but seriously, you find the cutest stuff at Target! I LOVE that jacket; the color is fabulous on you.

Happy New Year, Whitney!

I'm always so jealous of teachers when you guys get your summer/spring/winter breaks.. but then I think about what you have to deal with everyday and... nevermind. You guys totally deserve the breaks!

I love the peachy stripes paired with the tan. And, I'm still so amazed that you are so organized and was able to do a closet inventory. Maybe someday I'll get around to doing one myself :)

That's adorable! I'm glad you're enjoying some time off!

So cute Whitney! I love that blazer with the stripes, and extra props for putting it together so quickly! :)

Great outfit. I enjoyed reading this post as much as this outfit.

What a sweet guy!! I love that! And that blazer is awesome on you - so flattering!!

He is a sweetie. :) I basically adore my husband.

I love this blazer so much that I got it in this camel and a grey color. I think I'm set on blazers for a while...or let's hope.

I'm glad you enjoyed reading about my super sweet husband. :) He's a keeper.

Thanks, Tara! I've wanted to pair the shirt with the scarf for a while, and I though the blazer just made it seem a little more put together (especially since I did it on the fly!).

He's a cutie. :) I definitely enjoyed the break!

I definitely enjoy the breaks, but they can get a little too long! I start getting anxious to get back (and sometimes I forget that I even have a job...). I think that it all comes down to passion and natural gifts!

I'd love to see your inventory and maybe your process for getting more organized? I'd love some fresh ideas!!!

I'm a pencil skirt addict. It's sad, awesome, and embarrassing all in one. ;)
And I'm that organized because my adorable husband has even worse OCD than I do...

Sometimes I think that the workers in my local Target think I work there, too...I feel like I'm always in there for something...! :)

I have grown to really like this camel tan! I hated it for the longest time, but I really appreciate it now!

True story! Target rocks!
(my checking account might argue otherwise...)

Thanks! I love spending time with Fins...but it's even better when he plans something out of the blue!

Definitely a good way to feel about the person you're spending forever with!!
I need to get a few more blazers...but I'm not letting myself until I wear the ones I already have more!

That's adorable - you two are too dang cute. We went to a spontaneous pizza outting today which was fun :) We rarely get pizza so it was extra fun (but we got salads too haha). I really like the leopard + coral combo. If I had either of those pieces I would totally recreate ;)
