For my last post in my closet inventory series, I put together the two smallest, yet most expensive, sections in my closet; outerwear and dresses. Truthfully, I rarely wear either, but I'm trying a little harder to incorporate the awesome blazers and dresses I own into my daily wear.
Left to right: My wedding dress, Yukata from Japan, cream lace dress - Target - $7, tan LS shirtdress - Target - $10, short sleeve shirt dress - Target - $20, 3/4 sleeve olive skirt dress: LOFT - $20, brown sweater dress - LOFT - $40, black sweater dress: Target - $20, (insert a couple LBDs from LOFT and Target), polka dot shirtdress - Target - $25, striped dress: Old Navy - $20, black sleeveless dress: Target - $20, black/cream sleeveless v-neck: Target - $20
L to R: red halter: J. Crew - hand me down, maroon 3/4: Target - $25, pink sweater dress - Target - $10, pink ss dress - Target - gift, multi-color v-neck: Target - $6, Coral tank: Target - $20, yellow sheath: Target - $7, yellow ruffle: Target - $5, geometric dress: Target- gift, turquoise jersey dress - NY&co - $14, navy circle sundress - H&M - $20, Jason Wu - Target - $40, Navy shirt dress - Target - $40 (gift) Not pictured: navy key dress - Old Navy - gift
Our major outerwear is stored in a closet by our front door. My jackets start with the bright kelley green trench:
Starting with mine:
Green trench: Target - $30, khaki trench - Old Navy - $30, Light trench - NY&Co - gift, black/white wool jacket: Target - $20, yellow wool jacket: Forever21 - gift, black wool: Old Navy - gift (then some negligible hoodies that I never wear unless I'm home all day/working out), pink North Face - $100, black puffy - gift
L to R: khaki 3/4 with navy piping - AE - $40, red jacket - Old Navy (gift), pink blazer: Forever21 - gift, pink lace blazer - Charlotte Russe - $20, cherry red blazer - Target - $27, Olive jacket: Target - $7, turquoise blazer: Target - $25, blue/white striped blazer: Express - $35, Navy blazer: GAP - $17
boucle jacket: Charlotte Russe - $40, purple boucle jacket - gift, black LS blazer: Target - $7, Black 3/4 sleeve blazer - Target - $20, pinstripe blazer: gift, black/white striped blazer - Forever21 - $20, orange jacket - Old Navy - gift, brown blazer - Old Navy ($25)
Not pictured: Camel blazer - Target - $30 (giftcarded), Grey blazer - Target - $30 (giftcarded)
This closet inventory series did not include unmentionables, sleepwear, or work-out clothes. Other than that, did I leave anything out?
What do you think about my wardrobe; is there anything I should add in? Permanently remove?

As much as I wanted to love this series, it was just hard because essentially the pictures were just little slivers of color. Even with your descriptions, readers can't actually see anything besides what color some of your clothes are. Does that make sense? I enjoyed seeing your jewelry and shoes because those are the only ones where I could see the whole items and enjoy what they were. You have some killer shoes!
I totally understand--and I definitely worried about whether it would even be worth doing this series. You guys have virtually seen everything in my closet because I wear it on the blog, so the point of this was just to give you an itemized list/show you the expense and amount in my closet. This would have been a really long post/series and it would have taken a lot of time to take a picture of each item. Let me know if you think of a better way to do this--maybe I'll find a way to change the posts around so you can see more of the clothes.
I appreciate your candor here!
i think it was pretty adventurous to try to take inventory of everything in your closet and you did a good job of sharing everything with us, i can't imagine the time it took to do these posts! i loved this series and liked seeing how you organize your closet, too. and speaking of dresses, i'd love to see you wear that webster for target (i think) tan dress again sometime!
I just wanted to say that I love your closet inventory posts! I can't believe how organized you are (yes, you'd probably shake your head at my non-ROYGBIV ordered mess) and I love that your favorite stores are MY favorite stores as well :) And seriously, I'd love to trade you wardrobes. You have some amazing stuff in there!
loved seeing all of your pieces - I can't even begin to think about how long this took to do!
and no underwear inventory? we are all disappointed! ;)
I think you're golden gal! You've got LOTS of outfit possibilities in there...so how about this challenge?! :)
So true -- I think I can squeeze a year of no repeats out of my closet, right? ;)
It definitely took a while. I wasn't sure how I wanted to do it, but I think it turned out okay. The people who have read my blog for a while should recognize the clothes, I think.
Well...if you really want to see my undies... haha!
So glad you enjoyed it! :) I am only as organized as Fins keeps me accountable! ha! He's even more OCD than I am. I'm pretty sure you have an awesome wardrobe, yourself! If I could fit into your clothes, I'd totally trade! ;)
It definitely took some time to put together! I'm glad that you liked the series!
I agree -- it's about time I wear it again! :)
Thanks for these posts and I think your end of the year words are straight out of my head!! Audrey at putting me together utilizes 'go chic or go home' it looks like a lot of work in the beginning, to take pics of all your clothes, but maybe it is the perfect tool for me... I hate that feeling of staring at a full closet and feeling like I have nothing to wear!!
By the way, Patty, I added a page about my closet inventory to my header. It has new pictures -- perhaps this will help you a little?
