...those are the lyrics, right?

Either way, we've been getting some delicious autumn weather the past few days...just in time for school to start back! Here's what I wore on the first day back in my classroom:
What I Wore:
Skirt: NY&Co - birthday giftcard ($15)
Shirt: Forever21 - $17
Cardigan: Aeropostale (circa 2007) - $15
Shoes: Payless - $20
Necklace: came with a shirt
Belt: Old Navy - $6
I bought this top all the way back in April or May and this cardigan has been hanging (unworn) in my closet ever since the infamous "Honey I Shrunk Your Cardigan" incident last year. I didn't want to get rid of the cardigan because I love it, but I was scared to put it on because it looked remarkably smaller on the hanger.
Guess what? It fits. To be honest, though, I discovered that fact about a month ago...and I've been hanging onto it to wear with this top for the first day of school.
So, this outfit is a perfect example of a "saving it for later" outfit. I wanted this outfit to be so awesome that I neglected to even wear any of the clothing articles in this outfit.
I really need to work on that.
Also...I really need to work on my picture skills. Forgive how I look in the first picture. I took them at about 6AM on my way out the door...they looked so much better on the small screen on my camera. The other picture of me (the one I thought looked much better) actually turned out to be out of focus and fuzzy. I'll have to re-think my picture strategy this school year. So much to improve, so little time.
Speaking of back to school, remember this post? Well, AT&T still has their "Back to School Sweepstakes" happening. Here's what I received from AT&T:
I was really excited to get these because I've been looking for a quality pair of earbuds for a while. These are a great addition to my daily run, but don't expect to see them in action...I'll spare you the visual of my sweaty self in workout clothes.

The colors, patterns and textures in this outfit are amazing together! Definitely an outfit that is even better than the sum of its parts.
How did I miss that sailboat top? I love it! Your first day back outfit is perfect!
Love the sailboat top! And I also like that you are wearing your ID badge already at 6AM :) At my old school, the principal didn't enforce wearing our badges. I never wore mine because I saw it as an outfit ruiner. Now, at my new school for September, all the staff members have to wear them everyday! Help! How do I wear/hide my ugly teacher ID badge??
Cool look :)
This is such a clean, crisp look! The detail on both the top and cardigan are adorable. And I've got to admit to being envious of your fall weather!
Love it. So fresh and new, perfect for that first day of school!

I'm loving these "saved" outfits however---you look SO presentable and smashing!
Started following your tweets too :)
1. Don't you feel ridic posting stuff from Aero? I have a few things left in my closet from literally 5 years ago, and just want to post a disclaimer like "No I did not go shopping in the tween store as a 24, almost 25 year old. I was 19. Leave me alone.
2. For pictures I bought a $6 tripod and $2 remote on ebay. worth it for real.
3. I got those earbuds too! I was so so excited.
I love the blue color against the black belt. very stylish. you look beautiful sweetheart! <3
Thank you! :) I really enjoyed wearing it!
1. OMGeez yes. I always think I have to preface it or write a disclaimer, too.
2. Hmmm...I've looked at those before, but haven't pulled the trigger. Definitely looking.
3. EEK--they're awesome!
Thanks! Hopefully I can go through all of my saved outfits and get back to dressing on the fly. ;)
I agree! I saved it specifically for the first day back!
Oh, the fall weather hasn't decided to stick around, but I'm looking forward to when it does!
Yay! So glad you're on Twitter!
Bahaha! You caught me! If I don't put it on, I'll forget it at home or will have to dig through my car when I get to school.
I honestly don't have any tips for hiding the badge--mine is pretty awful, too. I just clip it to the side and try to hide it in my pocket or behind a cardigan.
I definitely jumped on it when I found it. The cut is a little weird, but it works best when I tuck it in! Thanks, Tara!
I agree! I like the outfit together--it seems to make sense.
This is a great "back to school" outfit! That was always my fav fashion time of the year!
