Go-To Weekend Attire

What I Wore:
Leopard Flats: Old Navy - $7
Dress: Target - $20
Cardigan: NY&Co - $10
Belt: Target - $17
Necklace: Francesca's - $10
Earrings: Amazon.com - $3

This is my basic uniform for running errands and grocery shopping on the weekends; I pair a basic dress with a cardigan, belt, and bold necklace and head out the door. It's so easy to put these outfits together that it's almost kind of second nature, but I think that I look like I put some effort into getting through the mundane tasks for the week ahead. Basically, add a solid dress or two to your closet and you're in business.

Overall, the weekend was just what I needed. Even though being an adult means that "sleeping in" is actually 7:00 AM, I feel rested and ready to take on week two of teaching and week one of grad school! Well, technically, my first class isn't until the next Monday, but Fins starts this week. This is going to be the first semester where we are both working full time and taking a class (and I'm coaching), so I'm a little anxious to see how we're going to balance all that and still see each other...and train for our half-marathon (it's fourteen weeks away!).

I do, however, think I've got a rhythm down as far as blogging goes...you might be seeing outfits that are two or three days behind, but I'll just pretend it's current.
XO,

I so need to get some dresses like those! I wear scrubs to work on Saturdays and then we go to church later that night and I end up wearing my scrubs because I don't want to change into fancy work clothes, but then I feel gross/grungy because I'm wearing scrubs.....plus when I have a day off and want to run errands or catch lunch with someone, I end up having nothing to wear....You are inspiring me to go get some casual dresses!!

I love a good jersey dress. Comfy as pajamas but looks polished! Just discovered your blog and I'm loving what I see.

Having an outfit formula is super helpful and I love yours! That dress is adorable and I love the cozy cardigan layers over the top. For running errands, you look incredible as always. And so glad to hear that teaching is off to a good start! I'm sure the balance will come very soon. Have a great week!

Dang girl, you have lots going on! Just remember sometimes to take a breather for a make out session or something ;)

Sounds like you're going to be busy! I love how a bold necklace easily pulls together an outfit.

We are always busy, but we always make time for each other! I agree about bold necklaces!

Bah! You're too hilarious. :) We always make time for each other, for sure. I just miss him a lot during the week...I mean, we see each other, but I always want more time with him no matter how much time I get. I guess we're just in love or something.

I agree! I can dress it up or down (and it was inexpensive!).
Thanks, Clare!

I'm definitely grateful for the outfit formula...I tend not to post then every time because even though they're different dresses and combinations, it's still the same basic idea. I mean, how many outfits with a dress, cardigan, belt, and necklace can a girl post? ;)

Glad you found me! I never knew polished could be this easy! :)

Target is amazing for dresses like this. They're always on sale--and if you go now, there are a bunch of sleeveless ones for super cheap! :)

I hate wearing gym clothes for anything other than the gym, and this outfit is just as comfortable (and just as easy to put together)!

I love how easy dresses are to style. This must be why I have a dress addiction!

I totally understand where you are coming from. Chris is at the hospital from 4 AM to 7 PM and in bed by 8:30. In 2 weeks he's leaving for 2 months for a rotation 3 hours away. I don't know what I'll do with myself.

Gah, you crazy kids in love. GROSS.

I completely agree! Dresses are almost too easy sometimes!
