Falling

What I Wore
Dress: Target - $7
Shoes: Old Navy - $7
Cardigan: Old Navy - $20
Belt: Forever21 - $5
Necklace: Amazon - $43

First, I have to say THANK YOU for your sweet comments and support on the last post. I was so relieved to hear that some of you have been through similar struggles--and I have to admit that the compliments had me smiling all day. You're awesome. All of you.

This week has been the first official week back to work for teachers--and I didn't realize how much I missed my co-workers! I truly work with the most amazing, brilliant, and loving people I could have ever put together. Their enthusiasm and energy has been so sustaining this week...and even though I taught an in-service class, I wasn't nervous or worried. Can it always be this easy? Please?

I wore this outfit to in-service and then to the back-to-school social our headmaster hosts for us every year. I honestly planned to just repeat a previous outfit with this dress, but threw this together at the last minute after this cardigan gave me a guilt trip about how I haven't worn it in a while. It's amazing how a small glance around your wardrobe can cause a little creativity.
I realized later that this outfit is perfectly autumn and would look awesome with boots. Definitely doing that.
See, cardigan? I've got plans for you.

XO,

You have the most amazing striped cardigans - I never seem to be able to find any! So glad the first few days back are going well - it sounds like you have an amazing group of co-workers.

I keep wearing fall-like looks hoping it will convince mother nature to bring some cooler weather...kind of like a rain dance, you know? but, so far it has been unsuccessful.

Um....LOVE this. I loved the cardigan and wrap dress combo...and then I scrolled down and the fun print on the shoes was just the perfect *pop* addition. Seriously a winner! Glad your start to the new school year is going smoothly--always a bonus! :)

It was a very easy look--and so comfortable (which is SO important during in-service!).

Thanks so much! I thought the shoes and cardigan combo was a no-brainer. I imagine I'll be combining them again in the future. :)

Thanks, Nikki! I love the cardigan, too, but I don't know why I don't wear it often!

My kind of thinking. Haha! I think that's exactly what I was trying to do with this outfit--will the weather to match it. :)

Aw, thanks, lovely! Target has some pretty awesome ones right now that I've been resisting...but Old Navy's cardigans have definitely gone downhill since I bought this one a few years ago...

Thanks, Tara! You know I love a good deal--and I couldn't resist them for $7!

Wow! I just read your last post and am completely floored. I cannot believe someone would do that. I'm sorry you had to go through that. It just doesn't make any sense to me. But I'm glad you had a great day at work! Anytime something bad happens it's always nice to get back into my element which is teaching, which I'm sure is the same for you. It's a comfort thing, getting back into something we're passionate about. Anyway, very cute outfit btw. I'm really liking the colors and it being reminiscent of fall. It gets me fired up for fall and layering and cardigans and boots and ... I can go on forever! And you can never go wrong with leopard flats!

Love it! I am plotting a similar outfit with a black wrap dress I have like that. Question - where do you find boots for the fall that are relatively inexpensive? (ie not $100 a pair)

Looking forward to seeing that cardigan more! It's going to look awesome with boots!

You are too sweet. I was a little put-off by the comment, too. At first, I thought that she may be right, but then I had one of those "wait, seriously?!" moments. haha!
I appreciate your blogfriendship--and I am DEFINITELY looking forward to getting back into my classroom. You are so right! I'm ready for fall!

I completely agree, Erin! I have a navy dress that I think would work with both, too.

That's a good question! Boots are so hard to find! I actually got a pair from Amazon a few years ago and they lasted me a long time! Shoe Dept has inexpensive boots, but a fairly limited selection.

Thank you, Tessica! :)
