Of Olympic Proportions

What I Wore:
Polka dot sweater: Old Navy - $15 (runs large, by the way)
Skirt: American Eagle - $25
Shoes: Target - $10
Belt: Target - $13
Earrings: Francesca's - $9

Last night, our friends hosted an "Olympic Opening Ceremonies Dinner." We watched the opening ceremonies and got to eat and drink some international dishes (I brought a Greek salad--I thought I was rather clever--and I brought Heineken (beer from Holland!) and lemonade (from Florida) to make shandy). We also had na'an, a few types of curries, some cheeses, a meat pie, wines, and scones for dessert.

I thought my outfit definitely fit the theme of the dinner in a patriotic sense...and looking at my tags, I realized I fit the international theme even more as I was unknowingly representing Vietnam, the Philippines, and China. (I find this semi-hilarious, but semi-eye-opening...)

I am really excited to start watching the games and root for the USA! It seems like there are a lot more specific rivalries this time around, so I'm looking forward to a little more competitive spirit.
Which event is your favorite?

XO,

LOVE love love this outfit! I have been showing a lot of self-restraint by not purchasing that sweater from old navy, but i think this is my official "caving in" moment :)

Hi! :) I just spent a lot of time here browsing around. Great blog!

I will be a first year teacher this year, so I am looking forward to following your blog and hearing your experiences and advice.

It's great to see teachers with style. Now I don't feel like I have to give mine up :) Thanks!

P.S. I have a great giveaway going on at my blog theliteratorium.com ! I don't have many followers yet, so the odds are in everyone's favor.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer break!

I find myself buying polka dots lately so you have to know I am in deep like with this outfit you are wearing. It's just so fun and anyone passing you on the sidewalk has just got to smile.

We definitely had a good time! I think we just started a tradition. :)

And thank you for the compliment! I think polka dots can make anything look adorable.

That's a good point! I'm being patriotic for a lot of countries! haha!
Thank you!

Oh man, I am definitely loving polka dots right now, too. I think they're temporarily taking the place of stripes in my list of favorite things. Temporarily. Very temporarily.

This was such a sweet comment. Thank you, Diane!

It was a lot of fun! It was impromptu, so I imagine it would have been even better if we put more planning into it. :)
I am LOVING Old Navy right now!

Oh gosh, tell me about it! Old Navy is such a bad temptation right now...but I've been really good and this is the only thing I bought from them, but there's so much more that I want to at least try on (in hopes I'll hate it and won't want it anymore). haha!

Roger Federer, huh? My friend is a big tennis fan, so I've heard that name a lot. ;)
