Today's Outfit:
What I Wore:
Skirt: Amazon.com - $25
Shirt: Old Navy - $15 (circa 2003?)
Shoes: Giveaway score - Olsenboye via JCPenney (~$25ish)
Earrings: Target - $10
Scarf: Target - $15
Belt: Target - $13
Aside from the fact that I look like I have no neck, I really love this outfit!
I actually came across the color combination while I was doing laundry...this shirt and skirt happened to land next to each other while I was organizing and hanging clothes. Marvelous serendipity, right?
However, when I put it on, I realized how scoopy the scoop neck really was...so my first thought was to throw on a scarf as a last plea for modesty...and then I played off the colors in the scarf with my belt and shoes and...voila an outfit!
I love playing with color--so I took this cold, dreary, rainy April day as an opportunity to bring the spring.

Whitney, I'm so happy I found your blog! I'm always thrilled to connect with fellow blogger teachers. What grades do you teach?
Love this monochromatic outfit--always such a chic look!
I love these colors! I had to scarf today, too. I can't exposed my babies to all of this cleavage!
I'm so glad you found me, too! I'm always on the lookout for other teachers! :)
I teach 7th grade Social Studies--and I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

I love how you put that! Too funny!
love that skirt, what a great find - were you searching for it or just came across it?!

I was looking for pleated skirts--and on a whim decided to try Amazon and found it! I love it so much I bought it in pink and mint green.
Btw, I have you on my schedule for the 25th--just making sure I had that right. Your last comment about looking forward to tomorrow threw me off. :)

That is a beautiful skirt and I remember the mint version of it as well. You carried off this colour combo quite elegantly. I like the bright tones added by the footwear too. Looking good.
That skirt looks perfect on you. It is so flattering! I think the scarf brings it all together. When I wear scarves to school, I always ditch them by 2nd period. They get in my way for some reason. Do they ever bother you?
Dossome :)

This skirt is SO pretty! It fits you so well! Do you know if it's still available on Amazon? I'd love to buy one myself. :) Love this outfit!
I love the pleats on that skirt!
Hi! Love your blog. Would you say the skirt runs true to size? The reviews on Amazon are mixed, but a lot of people are saying it runs small. Thanks!
Thanks, Kristi! I'm glad you stopped by! :)
I would say the skirt runs a little small. I can typically wear a medium, but this skirt is a large--and it might be a little on the loose side around my waist, but it's better than being too snug! :)
W
I do, too! I have never been a big pleats girl--I always thought it was very "grandma," but these skirts proved me wrong!
It is still available! Here:

I love the skirt so much that I bought it in another color, too! They are very flattering and girly!
Scarves usually bother me if they're heavier scarves for winter--I ditch those very quickly. When I wear the lighter ones for modesty purposes, those suckers stay on all day! ha!
Thank you, Ruby! I've always been a fan of pastels--I think anyone can wear them, too!
Whitney, I found your blog through Simply Sarah and am so glad I did! I teach at a university, and while our dress code is more relaxed than it is in grade/high schools, it's still tough sometimes to come up with cute and appropriate outfits. You do such a great job of that! I'm following now and can't wait to dig through your archives when I have time later today.
Very cute outfit! I found your blog through Simply Sarah and I love it! New follower!

I'm glad you did, too! I always love meeting other teachers (of all levels) through blogging! Thank you for the sweet compliments! :)

gorgeous color combo!
that skirt is AMAZING, too. I definitely looked it up on amazon and have it saved in my wishlist - they're currently out of stock but I'm hoping it comes back soon! So because you already have it I figure I'll throw this in - is it true to size or should I get it bigger or smaller? :P

(ps. yes, I am catching up with your blog right now so you're going to get about 6 comments in a row from me! haha)
Too funny! Comment away! :)
The skirt ran a little small for me. I ordered a size up just to be on the safe side and it fits perfectly. I have it in the spring green and pink--and they both fit the same--I know some reviewers were saying that there are discrepancies between sizes.
They were just in stock a few days ago...did you go to this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CMFSVY/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00 ? It's showing it as available!
Let me know if you get one (or more!). :)
