Casualty

Friday's Outfit:

(side braid in the afternoon for date night with husband)
What I Wore:
Coral Pants: Target - $22
White Shirt: Target - $3
Bubble Necklace: J. Crew via eBay
Leopard Scarf: Amazon.com - $7
Bow Earrings: Forever21 - $3
Shoes: Target - $10

As you may or may not know, my school has a more formal dress code. It's not necessarily strict, but men are required to wear collared shirts with a tie. On Fridays, we have a more "lax" dress code--meaning we can wear our coach polos or our dressy school shirts. I partake in the Friday ritual occasionally, but most weeks I honestly forget. I typically dress a little more casually on Friday, but when husband saw my outfit yesterday, he commented on how overly and uncharacteristically casually I dressed. I didn't think it was casual when I put it together. I mean, I even straightened my hair!

Aside from the unintentional casualness of my outfit, we've had a pretty exciting weekend.
Our best man/matron of honor had their baby girl this Thursday, so we've had some baby fever going on. But not enough of a fever have our own...just for the record.

Great outfit, and I love the necklace!  I did the J.Crew via ebay thing two and got the turquoise one. ;)  The leopard print and Coral pants are great together!

when I went to interview at the school I want to intern at (got the job, by the way!! :D) a lot of the teachers were dressed pretty lax like this - one of them was even wearing jeans! and it was a Monday! I feel like this outfit would be perfect for that school! :)

coral is a GREAT color, I just got some knee-length coral shorts that I love!

Hi, just found your blog and I love it!! I have been a teacher in the uk for 10 years - gulp! In fact last year I taught at a k-8 in Schenectady as a Fulbright scholar and that is where I learnt about casual Friday. We do not have them in the uk. Smart means smart - monday to friday. I wonder if that is because our pupils wear uniform? Anyway keep blogging! I organise my outfits on a Sunday too - it is such a clever idea and saves loads of time.

My students wear uniforms, as well. They get to "break the dress code" on Fridays--but they have to wear a school t-shirt or a shirt from a university and they are allowed to wear jeans. I don't know how popular "casual Friday" truly is, but I technically still have a stricter dress code to follow compared to other schools in the area.

I'm so glad you found me! :)

EEK! Congratulations, Nicole! That's so amazing! :)

I think this is a pretty standard teacher outfit--I had plenty of teachers who wore outfits like this every day--I thought I'd mix it up a little with the scarf and necklace. :)
I love coral more and more every time I wear it! It looks fantastic with any color!
Congrats again!!!!
