Friday.
Gotta get down on Fri-day-ee.
I have never listened to that song all the way through. Or maybe I did--it might have put me in a trance through the last minute or two.
Today's Outfit
What I'm Wearing:
White Tank: NY&Co - $3.99 +15% off
Blue/White Stripe Cardigan: Target - $8
Navy Blazer: Gap - $17
Khaki Pencil Skirt: NY&Co - $15
Shoes: Target - $20
Belt: Target - $13
Necklace: Bought in St. Petersburg on Honeymoon :)
Earrings: Target - $20 (I actually wore these for my wedding)
I don't even want to calculate today's outfit total--I'm wearing a lot of clothes/accessories so it will be unusually high.
(Okay, so it's around $100--which is not unreasonable. That's about...a $12.50 per item average)
Everything I'm wearing gets a really good use out of them. I'll at least say that much.
I'm wearing a ton of basics--but when paired as a team, they don't look as basic.
And I thought pearls was a nice touch today.
School planning is keeping me super busy and I don't really have time to think about anything else. As I mentioned, cheer camp starts tonight and goes through tomorrow, so I'm using the rest of my weekend for some R&R and girl time. And of course a little husband time won't hurt either.
Today is actually a very special day. A day I've celebrated every year of my life.
Today is my parents' 28th wedding anniversary!
I don't think I have any close friends whose parents are still married (other than husband's), much less for that long (his parents have been married over 30 years!). Divorce is so common, adultery and cheating is so prevalent, and it's so easy for two people to drift away in this technological age.
I love that husband and I have such a strong example of how marriage is a life-long commitment and a beautiful partnership--even when life isn't so beautiful.
I know my parents' marriage has not been perfect--and that's what gives me hope. Even in imperfection and trials, two people can still love each other and weather storms as a team.
I'm looking forward to celebrating many more years of my parents' marriage--and mine.
XO,
W

Aww that's sweet! Congrats to your parents :) Yes, marriage is a lot of work! My hubby and I will be married 11 years next Friday.
LOVE your navy and white striped sweater. Very cute and versatile.
Have a great weekend,
Heather
I love your outfit today and how you layered the cardigan with the blazer. I have a navy blazer, so I think I might need to recreate this!
Yay friday!! Love navy colors!!! Probably one of my favorite colors :)
Marriage is good when you tread through the tough stuff. When it comes, go through it, not around it. :)
Love you outfit! Navy, white, and khaki is so classic.
Many more happy year's for your parents!
Julie
I adore your striped sweater under that blazer! Love, love, love!!
And happy anniversary to your parents! Mine and my husband's parents have both been married forever and ever, too. =) You're right that it makes for a great example for us!
Heather: Thanks! Congrats on 11 years! That's amazing!
Mrs. V: You should definitely! I can't wait to see it!
Rhoda: I do like Navy--I'm a bit obsessed with anything navy. Not sure why.
Julie: Thank you!
Tiffany: Isn't it awesome to have that kind of relationship as being a constant? I love it!
