I Lied. Oops.

So...I didn't mean to, but I lied to you yesterday. I said I would most likely wear something you've already seen.
I planned to do so, I really did.
My closet just wasn't having it, so I wore this:

What I'm wearing:
Skirt: Land's End - gift
Tank. Old Navy - $12
Cardigan: NY&Co - $20
Shoes: Target: - $10
Anthropologie-esque Necklace: Target - $15 (free with giftcards!)
Pearl Earrings: Target - $20
Belt: Borrowed from another dress.

I wear different variations of this outfit all the time--I love A-Line skirts!
I adore this necklace. People ask me all the time if I got it from Anthropologie...but it's from Target.

Today's Outfit:
Now we're getting to the repeat. I told you not to be upset if you saw this again:

What I'm wearing:
Dress: H&M (Copenhagen) - $25
Shoes: Target - $20
Coral necklace: Bought in St. Petersburg - $10
Coral earrings: Amazon - $4

This dress is so simple. I feel like I'm cheating when I wear it because there's nothing I can add to it other than jewelry.
PS: Today, husband was the photographer. Didn't he do a much better job?

Classroom Update:
As I've mentioned, I've made significant progress in my classroom and I'm rather excited about it. I have this empty, long back wall  that I wasn't sure what to do with it, and I think I've created something awesome this year. I thought I'd give you some photo evidence:

This is yesterday's handywork. I velcroed the cork squares on the wall--with plans to add more later with a bigger map (this might be a next year goal). As we study a location, I plan to label it with the pushpins...so by the end of the year, we will be able to look back and see a completely covered map.
(I love making my classroom visual and interactive.)

This is the other corner that has been a work in progress:

The right bulletin board is my "current events" board that we will update the year goes.
I offer bonus points to students who write papers based on current events that I tag in my classroom RSS feed.
The "Student Center" is the central location in which the students can find information concerning make-up work, extra maps, homework assignments, etc. My goal is to make them more self-sufficient and less reliant on me to make sure they get their work done.

Study center:
The little banner on the left is a flag of the dojo at which I took kendo lessons in Japan.
The kids totally think I'm hardcore when I tell them that.

After working a while, I checked my teacher box and inside was a little giftbag.
Inside was the sweetest note and a gift from one of my students. I gave him the award for my subject at the end of the year and his parents were always so complimentary and nice to me.

I majorly teared up when I read this. This note made every frustration teaching brings worth it.
(Reid was my maiden name--I'm still getting accustomed to the switch--so are the kids)
(I folded it so you couldn't see his name--gotta look out for my kids, you know)

It seriously is super cool. I plan on using this sucker like mad.

XO,
W

I love your necklace! That is one of the best jewelry pieces I have ever seen from Target! I better keep my eyes open! Cheers!

I am loving both outfits. Your necklace is amazing. I think I need to start looking around Target a bit more than I do. You are the third person in two days who had a envy worthy jewelry item from there.

I am in awe of you already being back to work in your classroom. I have no motivation to start back yet but I need to begin to start thinking about it;)

The first outfit is adorable! Cutest teacher ever! I'm scared a A line skirts because of my chicken legs...

Second dress is simple enough it doesn't need anything else but jewelry, it's great under a cardigan and in the winter you can wear it with leggings and boots

I just have to say that the necklace from Target is AWESOME! What a great find.

Love both your outfits.

And how sweet of your student to write that sweet note and the gift. It makes it all worth it I am sure :)

Is that a recent necklace purchase? So cute, I want one!

And you are a rockstar with your classroom prep!!! I'm still not sure if I'm staying or moving rooms, so I can't work on anything yet! :/

I love the necklace, too--it's one of my favorite pieces I own. I stalked it for a while last year--it was originally $29.99, but I play "chicken" with a lot of the stuff I get from Target, so I watched it until I saw it on clearance and snatched it up. :)

Rhoda: You've got some awesome ideas! Once you get in the room, it will be no time at all getting them in place. :)

And yes, my student is definitely super sweet. All of them are, really. I'm really looking forward to meeting more of them! :)
