Today's Outfit:
My bottoms look like a skirt--but they're actually shorts. They are extraordinarily breezy, and I kept checking to make sure I wasn't, um, showing off my assets every time the wind blew.
I wasn't, never fear.
What am I wearing?
Shorts: Charlotte Russe $5ish
Tank: Target $15
Blazer: American Eagle $50
Flats: New York and Company $20
Faux Sapphire Earrings: American Eagle $15
Today, I'm joining the ladies at ModlyChic for their Friend Friday. I love their blog and I'm excited to join in with them!
1. What’s your go-to outfit formula?
I don't think I necessarily have my style down to a formula, but I do have a standard set (and possible subset?) of variables. I love a-line skirts and cardigans, pencil skirts and nice tanks, and I wear camisoles with everything.
I do think, however, it depends on the week. This week my "formula" looks something like:
skirt + shirt/tank that picks up a color in the skirt/is an accent color + accent belt + (if needed) cardigan = outfit
Could I make my formula a programming language and have commands and different outcomes?
Okay, my style is complicated. (And I'm a nerd!)
2. How did you come about this formula?
I wear what I like. Maybe as I blog I'll be able to define it better. :)
I think it has a lot to do with when I started reading other blogs (or saw "The Devil Wears Prada" for the first time--One of those).
3. Do you have different formulas for different occasions in your life?
Most definitely.
During the summer, I've pretty much been sticking with skirts and dresses (other than gym attire). If it's not summer and it's a weekend/holiday, you can typically find me in jeans.
In my classroom, I love pairing tops with pencil skirts and preppy cardigans with khackis. I have to keep everything appropriate and professional (not that my daily life isn't...I just have to be extra careful). To a certain extent, I can't help but feel as though I have to compensate for being young, but I am NOT that frumpy dumpy teacher. At all.
On date nights with the husband, I try to dress my best. ;)
4. Has it morphed over the years?
Absolutely! In high school and the first couple years of college, I don't think I was aware of any personal style concept. I mostly dressed my jeans with the typical logo-filled shirts. I'm not sure what clicked, but my junior and senior years of college, I began focusing more on putting together outfits.
5. Which other blogger’s outfit formula would you like to swipe?
I've recently discovered How to Dress Like A Teacher. I absolutely love all of her outfits--I want to steal them all.
All for today, I suppose.
XO,
W

I love How To Dress Like A Teacher too! Your blog is really sweet and honest! Love it! Isn't FBFF fun!? Cheers!
Thank you, Sherry! You made my morning!:) I love doing FBFF--I'm going to keep doing it for sure!
I also wore logo t-shirts and jeans in high school and only started to change in college. I just sort of grew up.
I'm glad I found your blog via FBFF - I'm just getting back into the blogging thing myself. Going to participate in the next round as I missed this one.
Merry Alana: I'm glad you found me, too--and commented! Glad to have a new blogger friend to FBFF with! Can't wait to read your blog!
